The goal of the Basic Life Support (BLS) Course is to train participants to save lives of victims in cardiac arrest through high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The American Heart Association (AHA) designed the BLS Course to teach healthcare professionals how to perform high-quality CPR individually or as part of a team. BLS skills are applicable to any healthcare setting. BLS students will learn rescue techniques for adults, children, and infant.

The ci-5840 HeartCode BLS course is Part 2 skills validation for BLS certification. You need to complete Part 1 cc-6308 the online course first and print the AHA completion certificate and bring with you. If you have never taken a BLS course or if your BLS certification has been expired for more than 2 years, check with your local LEAD center on if you need to register for the classroom version pi-4704
To proceed with registering for Part 2 ci-5840 skills validation:
- Select a date and time period that works for you. It only takes about 15 minutes to do the skills. You will register for this course, ci-5840 HeartCode Parts 2 & 3 first.
- Students must complete HeartCode BLS Part 1 (cc-6308) and print off their Certificate of Completion BEFORE attending HeartCode BLS Parts 2 & 3. Students are encouraged to attend HeartCode BLS Parts 2 & 3 within 90 days of completing HeartCode BLS Part 1.

This course is for both initial and renewal of BLS across the Good Samaritan Society and Senior Care Services Service Lines.

If sessions are available for your location, proceed with registering:
- Select a date within the month you are due. You will register for this course, ci-5840 HeartCode Parts 2 & 3 first.
- Students must complete HeartCode BLS Part 1 (cc-6308) and print off their Certificate of Completion BEFORE attending HeartCode BLS Parts 2 & 3. Students must attend HeartCode BLS Parts 2 & 3 within 90 days of completing HeartCode BLS Part 1.

- Students must print the certificate from the online portion to give to the instructor at the skills session
